To identify and headhunt a Chief Financial Officer who has held a minimum of 10 years regional experience working in a similar position for a 1st Tier Main Contractor involved with major infrastructure and building projects.
Due to the retirement of the existing Chief Financial Officer, our longstanding client who are a leading privately owned Tier 1 Contractor in the UAE commisioned BCI Executive Search to find a replacement. They required a seasoned CFO with extensive regional knowledge of construction industry along with experience of dealing with the various challenges of operating in the Middle East market.
BCI Executive Search were able to leverage from a strong Finance network to engage with the some of the best performing Chief Financial Officers across the MENA region.
Through our extensive network and previous searches for similar CFO positions since 2006, BCI Executive Search were able to quickly compile a comprehensive long list of suitably qualified CFO candidates. After reviewing with the client and bearing in mind the relationships of various owned private family conglemerates, we were able to draw up a short-list of five experienced candidates for the position with no conflicts of interest. All the candidates were sourced from the region with the required experience and were flown in from Qatar, Bahrain and KSA along with two in-country candidates. After an extensive interview and assesment process, two candidates were selected to meet with the Chairman.
Due to the time of year, BCI Executive Search had to manage the chosen two candidates over a period of time until the Chairman had returned to the region. After final interviews with the Chairman, the more experienced candidate was chosen.
After extensive negotiations with the client on behalf of the candidate, an attractive Offer of Employment was made along with agreed Short Term and Long Term Incentives, BCI Executive Search closed the deal and the candidate started on the proposed start date. To date, the new CFO has fitted in well and has transformed the finance departments both within the corporate office and the business units along with the implemenation of a new ERP system to ensure effective management and transparent financial reporting.
