The Brief

Identify and headhunt an Executive General Manager with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar level position to oversee 3 divisions including Civil Engineering, Construction and MEP.

A long standing client, one of the leading Main Contractors in the Middle East with a consolidated turnover of more than $1bn annually across three main business units. Given the exponential growth of various other subsidiaries within the wider organisation, the Chief Operating Officer approached BCI Executive Search to headhunt an Executive General Manager who would assume full ownership and P&L responsibility of the core construction businesses.

The Process

BCI Executive Search were able to quickly map both the Middle East and International markets to draw up a long list of potentially suitable candidates with similar experience and narrow down to a very strong shortlist of five potential candidates for the position.

Since our establisment in Dubai in 2006, BCI Executive Search were quickly able to leverage from their extensive market knowledge to draw up a list of known candidates who were suited to the position and also a number of international candidates who had worked in the Middle East previously but repatriated back to their home countries. After preliminary conversations with a number of potentially suitable professionals, we drew up a shortlist of five candidates for presentation to the client, all whom held the necessary experience and local market knowledge required.  

The Result

Our client asked to interview all the candidates on the shortlist and selected one immediately after their interview for offer and a successful acceptance.

The offered candidate negotiated a reduction in his 3 month notice period and with the guidance of BCI Executive Search, started with the client in the new year. To date, he has been instrumental in making the required changes along with thw assistance of BCI Executive Search in appointing new General Manager's and other key staff members for their subsidiary business units.
