The Brief

A decision was taken by the Board to restart development of a high profile project, shelved during the 2008 Financial Crisis. The development was going to be a new financial district with an iconic commercial high rise tower on a podium with 5 further towers of high-end residential, hotels and branded apartments.

Established in 2002, the client is a leading master developer and the owner of one of the most successful Freezones in the world. Working closely with the Executive Management, BCI Executive Search was tasked with establishing a new team within the client’s property department covering Development, Contracts & Procurement, Planning, PMO, Projects Delivery and Government Relations consisting of 14 mid to senior positions.

The Process

Through our extensive network and having known a number of the Executive Management team, their backgrounds and their work ethic, BCI Executive Search were able to ‘hand-pick’ short-lists for each position through previous knowledge of the candidates and their experience in the region.

Over a 4 week period, we were able to carry out all candidate interviews and client first interviews, managing the candidates through the required internal and external security checks followed by the HR assessments and final interview. BCI Executive Search managed all the Offers of Employment and the required documentation required for the work permits and residence visas with a 100% closure rate.

The Result

A new team was established in record time, BCI Executive Search placed 12 of the 14 positions with the other two being direct referrals, the new team was in place within a 3 month period as requested by the Chairman.

With the establishment of the new team, a number of legacy issues within the master development started to get resolved along with the establishment of a first class PMO covering all of the developments within the community. The new financial centre with the iconic commercial tower was launched at CityScape Global in Dubai and the development started taking shape with the commencement of the groundworks.
